What happens in a Brainspotting session?

In a Brainspotting session, we'll work together to identify an issue you'd like to address. I'll help you locate the eye position (brainspot) that connects to your experience. While maintaining this eye position, you'll process whatever emerges - memories, emotions, body sensations. Sessions are 50-60 minutes and typically happen weekly.

How is Brainspotting different from talk therapy?

Unlike traditional talk therapy, Brainspotting accesses the deeper, subcortical parts of your brain where trauma is stored. You don't need to fully verbalize or analyze your experience. The eye position allows your brain to process and release trauma directly, often leading to faster, deeper healing.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies by individual and the issue being addressed. Some clients experience significant relief in 3-6 sessions for specific traumas. Ongoing support typically involves weekly or bi-weekly sessions. We'll work together to create a plan that fits your needs and goals.

Does insurance cover Brainspotting?

Sessions are $200 each. I can provide a superbill for insurance reimbursement if your plan covers out-of-network mental health services. Many clients find their insurance provides partial or full reimbursement.

Yes. Brainspotting is a gentle, client-centered approach. You're always in control and can stop at any time. The process works with your brain's natural healing capacity, allowing you to process at your own pace in a safe, supportive environment.
